Alastair Sinclair's Wasted begins as a contemporary, dark fairytale, based in a northern English city. Three unconnected people find themselves drawn into a strange and bizarre world where ‘normality’ is very different.
Constantly pursued by twisted creatures intent on their next meal, they struggle to comprehend what is happening, and why.
Violence ensues. Lots of violence.
‘Wasted’ is no bright fantasy, no orcs, goblins and elves. Instead it concentrates on the real aspects of such a journey: the panic, the fear, the bafflement and the inevitable dark humour that such an extreme experience breeds.
And the violence.
Did we mention the violence?
Enjoy the ride.
‘That face shredding, zombie making, mass murdering freak.’
